Fraser River Hydro and Fisheries Research Project fonds. 1956-1961.

The fonds consists of correspondence, minutes of meetings and numerous reports generated between 1956 and 1961. Also included are several research papers relating to the effects of hydro-electric dams on fish populations. Many of these reports were produced by University of British Columbia faculty including Edgar C. Black and William S. Hoar.

The Fraser River Hydro and Fisheries Research Project was established in 1956, financed in part by a grant from the B.C. Power Corporation. Designed to study the delicate inter-relationship of power developments on the river and marine life, the Project began with two general surveys of the so-called "fish-power" problem.
